description | A microgrid consists of several electric power generators that supply electricity and
heat to a group of customers. Microgrids can be consist of a limited number of
residential homes that are interconnected with each other and form an isolated power
system independent from the large utility grid.
A microgrid technique is effective backup power supply during an emergency, peak
cut of power plants, or exhaust heat utilization. Besides of it, when renewable energy
is connected to a microgrid, there is potential to reduce the amount of greenhouse gas
discharge.
Microgrid is a small-scale power supply network that is designed to provide power
for a small community. It enables local power generation for local loads, and
comprises of various small power generating sources that make it highly flexible and
efficient. |
