Summary: | Cloud computing is changing the outlook of IT industry, enabling software and hardware to be utilized as an intangible service rather than a physical product. With the adoption of cloud computing, organizations requiring online services need not worry about heavily investing in intensive hardware or IT professionals. Cloud computing providers can rent their IT services on pay-per-use basis while organizations use their remaining capital to induce potential customers and revenue. However, even if cloud computing seems like a feasible IT solution for companies, its credibility and reliability is questionable due to occurrences of vulnerabilities such as outages, downtimes and data losses. As such, there is an urgent need to study the causes and effects of the vulnerabilities of cloud computing.
