Description
Summary:Composite structures are expected to replace aluminium in the manufacture of future aircrafts. However, composite structures are inefficient in blocking sound and providing acoustical comfort for the passengers. Hence, an aerogel core is introduced in attempt to improve acoustical efficiencies. It is desired to investigate the acoustic performance of such structure combination. In particular, the absorption coefficient and the transmission losses of the aerogel-filled honeycomb sandwich composites have been studied.
