description | There is a need to develop an online bacterial detection system which enables sample preparation, concentration and bacterial detection to be done in realtime. A flow immunosensor approach based on detection of the fluorescence emission has high potential to be developed into an online bacterial detector. In this study, we developed a system of immobilizing fluorescently-labelled antibody onto a glass surface where the cells are captured.
This study aimed to develop an antibody immobilization method to
immobilize fluorescently-labelled antibody specific to the target bacteria (E.coli)
onto the glass surface to capture and label the cells. X-ray photoelectron
spectroscopy (XPS), atomic force microscopy (AFM) and epifluorescence
microscopy studies revealed the feasibility of using aminopropyltriethoxysilane-glutaraldehyde
(APTES-GA) to immobilize antibody onto glass substrates. |
