Description
In the evolution of Sino-African relation, the similar traits of Capitalism history allow scholars to infer Sino-African to be on an amicable term. Coupled with the history of African Slave Trade, the similar experiences share allows Sino-African to be on an intimate term. However, this assumption does not necessarily hold if we were to investigate the Chinese attitudes toward Africans. By focusing on the Sino-African conflicts in Guangzhou which is also known as “Chocolate City”, this paper will revisit the images of Africans in China history, discussing how Chinese evolved their perception towards Africans, and to evaluate if the Sino-African relation today is indeed as intimate as presumed by China.
