Description
Summary:Many studies have been conducted to investigate the effects of adding carbon nanotubes to polymer to improve its properties. Carbon nanotubes are ideal as a filler choice as they have good mechanical properties and high aspect ratio, which is suitable for manufacturing nanocomposite with high strength. With relation to the shoe industry, a type of polymer known as polyurethane was reacted with carbon nanotubes to investigate the effects on the mechanical and thermal properties, as these are factors considered for shoe design. Further functionalization of the carbon nanotubes are also carried out to study its effects on the properties of the nanocomposite.
