Using the rich imagery and metaphors of Islam and Sufism, “Hijab” aims to unveil the veils that exist in issues such as life and death, gender and sexuality and Otherness.
“Mining the ‘Local’ for the ‘Universal’” is a critical look at the playwright’s creative process in his attempt to create a piece that is situated steeply in local specificities but yet resonate universally. |
