What is heritage that is separated from its place and community?
Will there be anything left behind to discover or reflect upon in the future?
Over the course of this project, Donovan highlights how Singaporeans and the establishment have, in the pursuit of economic gains and the rush to reclaim land, neglected the heritage behind these islands, which inform us about our identity.
Using illustrations to juxtapose history and mythologies against modern infrastructure and activities, the artist will reveal the disconnect between these narratives and the values held by modern Singapore. |
