description | "My life is pointless!"
The statement above is usually made with much disdain. But why be so cynical? Isn't life objectively pointless? A Series of Outrageously Pointless Toys aims to challenge this prejudicial perspective.
Each toy in the series has a mechanism that forces the user to engage in an absurd and endless cycle of action. These toys convey pointlessness as intriguing and amusing. They suggest to the user that pointlessness has the capacity to be a positive notion.
Thus on a superficial level, A Series of Outrageously Pointless Toys aims to simply rethink pointlessness. But more so, the series is about rethinking our perspective towards living - that life is pointless and it is precisely this ambiguity that makes life worth living. |
