Description
Summary:With reference to Kong, Yuen, Sodhi and Briffett (1999), Singapore is a city-state characterized by highly urbanized setting. "Nowadays, yound adults in Singapore enjoy a high standard of living(i.e., improved quality of life) brought forth of progressive economic development and that has in turn affected their expectation and aspirations in life" (Kau, 2004, p.201). Due to the fast-paced of life and increasingly higher standard of living in Singapore, city-dwellers have a higher tendency to be blinded and be lost in the urban pace of life where people are always on the pursue of the perfect life. In a fast-paced society where stress level surges and technology shrives, people may become more practical. Inevitable, they will become more oblivious to the things around them that do not concern them immediately.
