| Summary: | This research attempts to study the reasons for continuing provocation committed by North Korea, known as the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea (DPRK), and the roles that South Korea navy, also known as the Republic of Korea Navy (ROKN), play in this issue. The research questions are as follows: ‘Why has North Korea not ceased military provocations against South Korea?’ and ‘What is the most important issue for its South Korean navy in its deterrence measures?’ It explores how emerging trends and contemporary deterrence theory will affect South Korea Navy’s measures against North Korea’s provocations. |
