description Scarcity of water in many parts of the world has resulted in diseases and deaths thus it is imperative that different technologies are studied to allow the better understanding of water production through various means. Singapore is a humid country with an average humidity of 70% hence adopting the method of extracting potable water from air is highly feasible. Application of thermoelectric cooler (TEC) to obtain potable water is studied using an experimental prototype. The various experiments done during this final year project represents the evaluations of the effects of different parameters have on the volume of condensation collected. The parameters include lengths, surface areas and geometry, hydrophobic surface of fins and addition of enclosure to the Extraction of Water from Air (EWA) prototype. The investigation analyses the amount of water collected over a three-hour period with an average humidity of 70%. During the experiment, the testing on hydrophobic surface produced the largest volume of water collected from air with 33ml for a cold surface of 580cm2. However, more study should be done to ensure cost effectiveness of the prototype hence assuring a promising market for the product.
