description Singapore’s level of urbanisation has grown sharply over the last few decades. With recent researches showing people are spending more time indoors in heavily urbanised cities, indoor air quality has been one of the current environmental concerns. The presence of biological aerosol plays a pivotal role in determining the quality of indoor air. Therefore it is significant to understand the movement of bioaerosol in the environment. This report will concentrate on three fundamental aspects – first, the bioaerosol observations in Student Activity Centre which illustrates the relationship between human occupancy and air quality; second, the “Monday Flush phenomenon”; third, the relationship between the amount of bioaerosol in the air and ground With the support of data acquired, a protocol to investigate indoor bioaerosol was developed. The protocol involved five principal steps which include the location selection, bioaerosol existence confirmation, identification of the microorganism, bioaerosol quantification, followed by the conclusion. The investigations made by the experimental research showed that there is a positive correlation between level of bioaerosols in the environment and degree of human occupancy, setting of ground floor, and usage of air conditioners.
