Summary: | One method of rehabilitation includes the gradual increase of resistance-type exercise for the fingers and hands. Hand exercisers are well known devices for use in this purpose. Three conceptual designs were generated after conducting a critical analysis on the existing products available in the market. Biomechanics and Anthropometry are two aspects of human factor considered before finalizing the proposed design. Due to the cost constraint, a single-plunger resistive hand exerciser was proposed to improve the strength and flexibility of the fingers and hand. |
