description | Due to advancements in technology, Solid State Lighting (SSL) luminaries are going to replace conventional lighting sources. It usually consists of several high power Light Emitting Diode (LED). The advantages of LEDs include longer lifespan, lower energy consumption, higher efficiency and being more economically friendly.
This report proposes a defined method to extend the lifespan of the luminaries through different ways of interconnecting these LEDs conceptually and seeks to understand the concepts behind such circuit design and attempt to provide for a tangible product that can also be commercially marketed to the public domain.
We will be looking into the limitations of each component’s specification criteria and how we can overcome the problems faced and achieve desired results.
The required components were purchased and experiments performed will set a benchmark upon which I can subsequently establish its feasibility for the intended role. Several conditions must be met for designing the circuit.
The process to implement an appropriate prototype is also described in various sections including the entire design procedure, selection of components, the interfacing between the various components of the prototype, analysis and future advancements will be covered in the later chapters. |
