description According to the lasted update by Statistics Singapore on July 2012, the proportion of Singapore residents aged 65 years and above rose from 9.3 per cent to 9.9 per cent from year 2010 to year 2011 [1]. With this rapidly aging population, those suffering from diseases of elderly will be increased. Especially while elders stay alone, their health conditions become more concerns. Thus, to design and develop a reliable, low cost healthcare monitoring and information system is highly desired towards today’s society. In this project, a wearable wireless sensor network system with measurement capability actualized via wearable sensor device was designed and user-friendly interfaces were implemented to realize two functions: real-time health monitoring and recording. With the aid of a wireless biosensor, the system can provide solutions for real-time monitoring on body temperature, heart rate, blood pressure and personal positioning. This wearable device was equipped with these wireless sensors and a wireless communication device, this allows real-time data to be transmitted and store in database. Which can be accessed anywhere anytime with Internet connection and provides the reliable health index to healthcare professions and relatives. Moreover, our system implemented alert function when any abnormal situations occurred thus help to the secure elder’s residence. The software platform was included two main parts, smart phone and webpage useroriented. A smart phone application, use to receive data from the wearable device, then transmits it to Internet server. And user is able to self-monitoring their health index through it. A user-oriented webpage enable to make remote data access become easier and convince for both healthcare professions and relatives with reliable and secure platform. Testing shows the webpage and server implanted in this project possess desired capability and reliability to function properly.
