Summary:This report presents the experimental measurements of the velocity and temperature of a developed pipe jet from a smooth pipe of length 999mm and an elliptic nozzle exit of AR 2:1 (50mm by 25mm). The aim of this study is to address the lack of published studies on the area of flow measurements of an elliptic pipe jet and the comparison with a contraction nozzle jet with identical aspect ratio to identify the effects of initial conditions on non-circular jets.
