Description
Summary:The research work concentrated on the design, synthesis and biological application of functional mesoporous silica nanoparticles. Through novel functionalization, several mesoporous silica nanoparticle (MSNP) based systems aiming at different biological applications, including drug/gene co-delivery, photodynamic therapy (PDT) and bio-image, are designed and fabricated. A variety of techniques of both materials and chemical science are used to fully characterize the functional MSNP before application in the biological system. By in vitro and in vivo experiments with cancer cell lines and zebra fish, the effectiveness of these functional MSNP based nano-systems are verified.
