The trimming of the foton ring's excess tape will be automated and factors such as productivity yield and safety will be of main consideration. The customer needs statement and the target specification has been used as guidelines in developing concept variants. Functional decomposition is utilized to divide the problem into simpler sub problems and the "morphological matrix" is used to perform systematic combinations. The concept is then selected from a list of available concepts by Pugh Concept Selection method.
