This study was conducted to compare the health state valuation of the Singapore population in seven demographic groups namely: age, gender, martial status, occupation, education, income, and race. A classification system called the Health Utility Index (HUI) Mark ill system is used to define health status. It describes a health state as consisting the eight attributes - seeing, hearing, talking, walking, use of hands and fingers, feelings, memory and thinking, and pain and discomfort. We have used the analog scale to measure their preferences.
