Essentially, this project is conducted to examine the expenditure patterns of Singaporeans in terms of their socioeconomic characteristics, so as to discern their areas of similarity and differences. So far, not many local researches have been done in this field of knowledge, and those studies that had been done in the past are normally too small in scale This is mainly because of the fact that their main focus is directed only to small socioeconomic areas at certain satellite towns of Singapore. As such, their findings may not represent the whole population of Singapore and caution will have to be exercised in interpreting their results.
