Travelling is fast becoming a national hobby among Singaporeans. Statistics have shown the increasing trend amongst Singaporeans to travel. Perhaps, education has not only dispelled the fear of travel, but also fueled the desire in people's mind to explore the unknown. Due to rising affluence and the strong Singapore dollar, Singaporeans are now able to afford to travel further and for longer periods of time. With the easy availability of brochures and travelogues about various destinations, Singaporeans are no longer ignorant and are, in fact, spoilt for choice. Just as the Singapore Tourism Promotion Board (STPB) is actively promoting Singapore to the world, the respective tourism boards of foreign destinations are eager to promote their countries as well.
