Alvin Ng Nanyang Business School DRNTU::Business 64 p. This study presents an empirical test on the effects of organizational commitment and trainer delivery characteristics on knowledge acquisition. The setting was an introductory Just-in-Time training course for production operators with minimal education. The findings indicate that trainer's clarity in delivery of lesson points, timing and balance are critical in increasing operators' learning. Contrary to expectations, organizational commitment has no impact on operators' knowledge acquisition. These findings suggest that, organizations should focus on the ability of trainers to clarify key points in lessons when developing or selecting trainers for operator training. Implications for future research and practice are also discussed.
