This study has been motivated by the increasing presence of the timeshare product in the tourism industry. The purpose of this project is to gain further understanding of this product which is considered relatively new. In addition, we hoped to study the role of a major player in the industry. An extensive review of academic literature on various aspects of timesharing provided the theoretical basis for the study. A case study was conducted on Resort Condominium International (RCI), a reputable company dealing in vacation exchange for timeshare owners. The study was done by utilising existing data which resulted from surveys carried out by Ragatz Associates. Interviews were conducted with RCFs personnel and members to gather opinions from different players of the timeshare industry.
