| Summary: | The rapid diffusion of lT in Singapore, coupled with the uncertainty
surrounding the appropriateness of vanous national policies to accelerate that
diffusion, suggests a need to examine the effectiveness of the policies in a more formal
context. Institutional factors in lT innovation are examined in great detail in the King
'
et al's model ( 1994) and this is used as a basis to explore the various policies,
especially those targeted at the private sectors. With this as the foundation,
propositions are drawn and compared with the actual state of the computerization in
the private sector in Singapore. Recommendations for future government policies are
suggested at the end of the report. |
