description | Health care industry relies heavily on manual recording and management of medical data. As the amount of data increases, medical professionals will have a hard time managing them. Human errors are likely to set in once the amount of data reaches the maximum capacity that a hospital can handle. Therefore, electronic systems are proposed to meet the needs of this industry. However, existing mobile health applications and Electronic Medical Record systems requires users to manually input medical data collected from different medical devices. This
process is tedious and leads to an increase in the number of human errors made. Medical data collected in the existing applications were also not displayed properly. In this project, an
efficient medical system was proposed and implemented to automate the data collection process and to efficiently deliver collected medical data in better graphic representations. The proposed system consisted of two parts.
1. Health Monitoring Profile (HMP): A web service that is capable of receiving vital signs measurements from different clients, and further processes these data to deliver them in meaningful representations such as charts and tables.
2. Health Tracking Profile (HTP): A client side mobile application which pushes data to Health Monitoring Profile (HMP). It is capable of providing alternative methods to capture inputs rather than traditional way of manually keying in the values
Both HMP and HTP worked together closely to enhance the efficiency of data collection process. In this report, the proposed system will be discussed and surveys were done to gather feedbacks from end users. |
