description A technology supported handheld communal gaming device is an interesting field to work on. This report proposes a design of the close proximity detection and communication module for application on a possible handheld communal gaming devices. In this report, the design of the module to meet the required specification is explained. The design was accomplished by using Arduino Uno board, and other simple hardware and software tools. Many design was proposed and implemented. The final design was selected by examining the performance of many designs. Testing was done to evaluate the performance of the module as well as to select the best possible design. In general, the objectives of the project were met. Lessons learnt and obstacles encountered were also discussed. Some of the recommendations on future work were proposed at the end of the report.
