Description
Summary:The retail industry in Singapore is heterogeneous. It ranges from ultra modem upmarket retail outlets and supermarkets to conventional old styled small provision shops. Retailing environment in Singapore is highly dynamic and has been changing rapidly, making conventional retailing highly vulnerable. Traditional provision shops have realised that the changes in the economic, social and demographic environment have created higher demands on the part of consumers that need to be met. As such, it is considered appropriate that a study of the provision shops be undertaken to examine their future prospect.
