Description
Summary:Special effect in digital photography is a broad term; in general, it refers to the effect applied to photos or film which is able to draw attention and create impact that are seemingly impossible in an analogue way. They are often used to enhance or modify reality to raise aesthetic merit and to convey information in a more effective and creative way than it would be possible with typical photography. In this project, the student will try some novel ideas to de-composite face image into different components and reconstruct the images using partial components to create different effects of the face photo. The Student needs to collect a large number of different groups of face photos and apply some statistical and machine learning methods to summarize different features of the different groups of face photos. In this case, Principal Component Analysis (PCA) is applied to the images in order to achieve the desired result. Then an input face photo of user can be modified, converted or beautified according to the user’s preference to the features of specific photo group. In the end, several special face-image effects will be generated in this project. All face images will be processed in computer using MATLAB (MATrix LABoratory).
