Description
Summary:This project aims to create a Demand Response Management System (DRMS) for smart grid operators to manage load control and perform temporary load reduction at consumer side during peak period when the cost of generation from the grid is high. Thus, the DRMS will shed the lower priority loads in buildings such as corridor lightings, water heaters and air conditioning units to help level the load on the grid so as to increase the overall efficiency in the power grid. When energy supplies get tight, the DRMS can help to keep the grid in balance or as more renewable energy sources such as solar, wind, and micro-turbine come online.
