description The objective of this project is to develop the platform of the Unmanned Surface Vehicle, which will be used in the 1st Maritime RobotX Challenge organized by the Association for Unmanned Vehicles Systems International (AUVSI). Various Universities from around the world will receive the same hull structure from the organizer. Propulsion, control and intelligence systems have to be designed and developed by the Universities to accomplish 5 tasks on the day of the competition. This project will focus on the propulsion system, which includes the motors, batteries, speed and direction control and hardware mounting. Though the final design was not decided at the point of writing this report, various conceptual designs were generated. Tests for individual components were also thought through which would be carried out when the components are assembled on the vehicle.
