Description
Summary:3D sound is a sound that can be heard in human daily life. Over the past many years, it has been found in video-game style, video arts and music as to make the audience get closer to the real world. Motivated by the limited representation of Singapore in tourism website. This Final Year Project (FYP) focus on creating a soundwalk installation for audiences especially tourists. The report include (Part I) study on 3D sound, the devices and method used. (Part II) Creating a soundwalk installation which represent Singapore. Part I researches on the methods and devices use to record 3D sound. I had experimented with changing the sounds e.g. in term of frequency, amplitude etc. An analysis was done by changing a sine tone and hearing the outcome by using headphones, the location of sound based on my perception was recorded. Part II creates a soundwalk installation which can possibly be employ for Singapore for Tour Agency Company to publish on their website in future to allow tourist to get even closer feel to Singapore. By understanding things that represent Singapore, five main places was chosen and recordings were done using binaural device with some post production to combine the different recordings into one sound track to present in the soundwalk installation.
