description | The student was attached to the Well Access System (WAS) department in FMC Technologies for the 30 weeks of Enhanced Industrial Attachment (EIA).
This report aims to summarize the entire learning experience during this attachment, including both theoretical knowledge of the products as well as the various major assignments tackled by the student.
The structured training and development program prepared by the company gave the student a strong background on the overview of the products. This was vital before the student could start on real engineering work. Three major assignments were highlighted in the report to illustrate the many aspects of the role of a Product Design Engineer (PDE).
In conclusion, this Industrial Attachment has given the student a flavour of the working life of an engineer, and the invaluable experience gained will greatly aid the student in his school curriculum as well as his future career. |
