| description | This project is a case study on the cost accounting system of a
company manufacturing electronic products. To maintain confidentiality, this
company will be referred to as Company XYZ. The aim of this case study on
Company XYZ is to gain a proper understanding of.its cost assignment system
and to identify any weaknesses in the system.
The case study was done through company visits and conducting of
interviews with the financial controller and the cost accountant of the
company. Documentation of the organisation structure and the cost
accounting system was done through reviews of the company's financial
manuals and results of the interviews.
The project also includes a literature review of the limitations of the
traditional cost accounting system and the changes that are required to suit
the new manufacturing environment.
Findings of the case study were examined against the results of the
literature review and suggestions for improvements to Company XYZ's cost
assignment system were made. |
