description | This study introduces the virtual value chain evolution in health care industry, the up-to-date virtual value chain functions and how the virtual value chain creates value by using hospital information system. After face to face discussion with staff from the Singapore General Hospital, the case study in this dissertation reengineered a patient management process, and with the help of simulation software, the case study proved the efficiency of the optimized process. It also illustrates that the common approach to develop a virtual value chain is by using information to reengineer the traditional process, and shows how much the virtual value chain can improve the hospital service. |
