description | This study emerged out of the need to address a growing rift in society along the lines of gay rights and the construction of a religion-homosexuality dichotomy, as evidenced from the Pink Dot Sg versus Wear White movements. This study aims to gain a deeper and better understanding of what influences people’s stance towards homosexuality and in the process, hope to deconstruct the religion versus homosexuality binary. Essentially, findings revealed that the two groups differed on beliefs about gendered roles, characteristics of an ideal family and interpretations of pro-heteronormative policies. |
