description Web accessibility is about how to keep the Web accessible to everyone, it is for people to be able to get and use Web content freely and to design Web content that anyone can interact with according to their needs. With the advancement of Web 2.0 technologies, websites transformed from static pages to dynamic pages on the World Wide Web. Though this might have heightened the user experience of the normal users as they can interact with information with more than just a click, this change however poses an issue against those that are visually impaired, this group of people would not be able to enjoy the dynamic content as intended. This gave rise to the issue of web accessibility, the Web Accessibility Initiative(WAI) is an initiative created by the W3C that is meant to contribute to the goal which is an accessible Web for all. A few years later in March 2014 a set of recommendations was released by the W3C, the Web Accessibility Initiative - Accessible Rich Internet Applications (WAI-ARIA). This set of recommendations comes along with a set of attributes that can be applied to add semantics to dynamic content on the Web. This project aims to discover just how much of these semantics is being used in the Web, by focusing on the top 500 websites indexed by Alexa.
