Description
Summary:The traditional methods of teaching include printed handouts and tutorial classes. These methods, though tested and proven, have their shortcomings in terms of efficiency and outreach. Printed handouts lack the component of visualization which is a key factor in the learning process. Tutorial classes often have a large number of students and it is difficult for the course instructor or teaching professor to cater to all the students in one lesson. Thus, our project aims to make use of instructional videos to complement the traditional teaching methods. In this case, we are making video tutorials on the use of analysis software. Instructional videos have the advantage of visually showing students every step of the process, as opposed to reading off a manual or handout. This greatly increases the efficiency of both the teaching of instructors, and the learning of students. Through the project, we managed to produce two comprehensive instructional videos which can be easily accessible by students whenever and wherever they want. Hence, in view of the effectiveness of this method of teaching, it is advisable for more courses in future to include the use of instructional videos to facilitate the teaching process.
