Description
Summary:The title of my study is called re-encountering as my project is about reconnecting people with something they are familiar with, but never given much thought about it. Hence my project attempt to get people re-encounters their living spaces again, looking at it from a different perspective and getting a new revelation from it. Tai Lee Siang (2007) talks about the roles and importance of Singapore architecture in his essay because he feel among the various forms of arts, architecture is probably one of the most mis-understood and under-rated. To the layman, they cannot relate and understand architecture, but once simplification, is often translated as nothing more than “buildings”. The author concludes that architecture has become meaningless to us; it has become something we have taken granted for. My research question for this project is to investigate the concept of place and time and the people living in it in the context of Singapore, attempting to re-establish this lost connections. I also want to look into interesting methods in the field of visual communication as a medium to connect the people to my topic.
