Description
Summary:Shape memory properties of polymers have long been utilized to create products such as anti-counterfeiting labels and brand protection seals. Although these properties have been utilized in several products, there are still new innovative ideas that have yet to be implemented. One prospective product is a temperature label that is able to indicate to users that heat or tempering has taken place on the label in a noticeable manner. This has applications in several industries that have products sensitive to tempering. Such industries include electronic industries and precision tools industries. Besides this purpose, temperature labels can also be developed to detect if temperatures products are exposed to is within tolerance. In this project, shape-memory application techniques are discussed and the possibility of manufacturing a new commercial temperature label to serve the former purpose is also explored.
