description | This project explore the feasibility of constructing a rotary wing Unmanned aerial vehicles (UAV) using a low-cost rapid prototyping method – 3D printing, with emphasis on the construction of the frame of the UAV. UAV or drones have been around since early 1900s. Earlier UAVs were used exclusively for military purposes since they were so costly and hard to obtain. Today’s UAVs are much more intelligent and are capable of a variety of applications outside of military. This report documents the design and development of a 3D printed singlecopter. Detailed information on the evolution of the first prototype built to the final design is included in this report. Recommendation for future work on the prototype is also included at the end of the report. |
