description National integration is a concern that could not be separated from a multi-cultural society like Singapore. It is important that different communities in Singapore are able to live together in harmony, This includes being respectful and tolerant of each other's beliefs and practices. The Muslim community in Singapore will be the subject of inquiry for this research. Globalisation has exposed Singapore's multi-cultural society to external influences as well as events that may directly or indirectly impact communities within the country. For the purpose of this dissertation, focus will be accorded to the Muslim community in Singapore and the external influences that shaped the community today. These influences include Islamic revivalism, the spread of the Wahhabi sect as well as heightened religiosity among Muslims around the world. This dissertation will analyse how these factors impact national integration in Singapore.
