description Palmistry is an art of reading lines and mount patterns on a palm. By observing shapes, sizes and patterns, it is said that one can foretell an individual’s future, personality and their character traits. One of the originating places of palmistry comes from China and it has been widely used in fortune telling and health prediction. After extensive studies, researchers had discovered that the palm print is related with nationality, geological distribution, character, temperament, health, intelligence and heredity. Therefore, the palm print information could be used in many applications. With technologies catching up, the art of palmistry is fading into the history. However, with current palm print recognition technologies, this art could be revived. Many believed that palms do tell stories about individuals. One of the possible benefits of palmistry is that it could actually predict illness. Through pattern recognition techniques, one could actually save time and money from going down to the doctors. Although origins of palmistry are uncertain, it does not affect the entertainment value; of such, divination. Divination has been practiced in most cultures throughout history and it often become the means of fostering further interest. This report focuses on the possibility of palmistry in the area of Fortune Telling as well as Health prediction. Through past research papers, online materials and palmistry, a knowledge-based database was established. The database contains 55 different kinds of illness and the patterns associating to them.
