description Renewable energy has always been an important topic which is driven by the energy crisis and the environmental factors. Solar cells have been one of the rising renewable energy and its demand over the past decade has been on the rise. In order the reduce the manufacturing cost of the material, thinner Si has been incorporated with nanostructures in order to trap the light and to compensate for the reduced optical absorption. In this Project, we would be studying a particular nanostructure on the hybrid solar cells. Si nano holes (SiNHs) would be fabricated on the Si substrates using a method call metal assisted chemical etching(MACE). It will be incorporated with an organic conjugated polymer(3,4-ethylenedioxythiophene):Polystyrene sulfonate (PEDOT:PSS) to form the hybrid solar cell. With the fabricated SiNHs, we will measure the efficiency of the cell and the different result of each individual cell. Among the fabricated SiNHs, the highest recorded SiNH has a power conversion efficiency has of 10.458%. Whereas the other solar SiNHs has a range 8.5 ~ 10 %.
