description Abstract This project discovered and demonstrated the possible comfort fitting solutions with shape memory polymer material. This project focused on the shape memory effect of polymer materials and demonstrated the feasibility of customizing fitting products at a relatively low transition temperature. A TPU slipper, a polymer coated elbow band and an EVA foam fingerless glove were designed and fabricated in this project. They can be moldable with a relative low temperature heating process to accurately fit individuals’ body curvature. The customized shape of each product was well retained in room temperature and can be fitted multiple times. With same heating process the shape memory products can be also reversed back to its original shape and be ready for next fitting process. The design, fabrication and demonstration process are included in this project report. Demonstrations of comfort fitting process were also provided in the CD-Rom enclosed to this report.
