Description
Summary:In the 21st century, we are beginning to see a change in how technological advancements have affected the ways two-dimensional (2D) images can be viewed on a three-dimensional (3D) display. The use of unique glasses that spurred and made 3D viewing well known has started to become obsolete, gradually being replaced by systems that allow multiple viewing without the need for unique glasses. This report aims to study the different methods of viewing in the 3D aspect, with strong focus on the auto-stereoscopic method. Thereafter, various techniques of auto- stereoscopic are being looked into. Particularly, theories of the lenticular display techniques will be studied and applied to aid the generation of content for the three view lenticular display. Different camera systems will be studied in order to ensure images displayed demonstrate a sense of depth and reality to viewers. In this project, the process of content generation for a lenticular three-view display will be explained to readers in a systematic manner. The compact camera and raspberry pi camera will be used to capture images. These images will be tested on the three-view display to determine an appropriate camera for the three-view display. Appropriate image capturing techniques will then be applied to identify optimal factors such as angles and distances before a camera system is built. Thereafter, once the camera system is built, image processing will be done in order to display on the lenticular three-view display. In addition, the distortion factor will be considered and reviewed in order to achieve quality images. Finally, a series of images and videos content will be captured and processed.
