description | Fatal traffic accidents are not uncommon in Singapore. The fact that the majority of these accidents are caused by human error suggests that it is possible to reduce the occurrence of fatal accidents. The absence of an all-round sensing system on the current market prompted us to work towards a system that can fulfil that goal. The Vehicle Alarm System is a system which consists of ultrasonic sensors, BLUNO and an Android device. The integration of these 3 components produced a sensor system which can work effectively together to produce sensible alerts with intelligent advice to help drivers on the road. After performing experimental tests with the system, we can be sure that the Vehicle Alarm System works effectively in realistic and practical road condition. Should the Vehicle Alarm System be used operationally, we are certain that we can achieve a lower road fatality rate. |
