description With the rapid development of Android operation system, Android application is widely used in the mobile devices which brings great convenient to people’s daily life. The popularity of Android operation system is due to the open source policy of Google which attracts a large number of developers to develop Android application. This project is to develop a user-friendly Android application to assist doctor and surgeon with therapeutic decisions. In real cases, the condition of wound can be very difficult for doctors to analyze and make decision for the next step operation. Wound assessment is mainly based on color. However, many current clinical setting is according to subjective assessment, which is inaccurate and varies from person to person. In this case, it is very difficult for surgeon to tell if the wound is improving and whether it is suitable for further reconstructive procedures. The application provides image processing functions to wound image which helps reduce the color distortion. Moreover, the application is designed to be able to return accurate analysis of color percentages and changes which assists doctor to analyze the pinkness of the wound and whether it is suitable for grafting. For this application, prototyping model has been adapted as the development process model. During the developing period, it is required to communicate with the doctor to get feedback and refine the requirements. This project has implemented a user friendly Android application for wound assessment through color analysis of wound image.
