description Diesel Generator are being widely used to supplement the power of the grid, or used in conjunction with renewable energy such as Solar Panel and generate active power energy when there is no adequate solar energy. Lastly, Diesel Generator are also used as a backup electrical source due to its fast starting time and fast response. Before the physical machine is realized or manufactured, due to high risk and cost, simulation studies are usually carried out to ensure its performance specification and functionality, and compliance with the required grid code. In this Final Year Project, the diesel generator modeling and simulation have been carried out in MATLAB simulink. Simulation of the Diesel Generator for steady state performance and transient stability have been carried out to check for its power grid code compliance. Modelling principles of diesel generator with relevance to literature has also been presented in this report
