Description
Summary:Abstract Ni-Cu catalysts are being used for thermocatalytic decomposition process. Catalysts of different morphologies were prepared by electroless plating methods. The catalysts were then characterized to compare their structural differences. The effects of varying some parameters such as pH and concentration of copper in the copper bath solution, the amount of reagents used such as APTES and the timing of sample being immersed in the copper bath solution were also analysed. The catalysts samples were analysed with the usage of Field Emission Scanning Electron Microscope to observe the shape and formation of the nanoparticles and followed by the EDX equipment to examine surface element concentration. The samples were found to have different structures like copper layers or copper nanotubes for various copper electroless plating. The different composition of copper bath solution and various parameters affected the results of achieving copper nanotubes.
